Subject: Terrible recording????
How is this BP aud that much different from 90% of the others you'll hear on here? chatty? yes. but you can always block it out if you just listen to the music. to say its terrible is just abusurd. how about a remaster then???
agreed with the music quality though. i've taken a break from this band after listening heavily for a year and half or so and this is such a breath of fresh air.

Subject: Great show, terrible recording
This show was great. BP was on the whole night. But...
the recording is pretty chatty. Crowd noise throughout the whole thing. It got so bad I couldn't listen anymore.
5 for the show. 1 for the recording.

Subject: Great Show
Recently I truly feel Brothers Past is finding that groove of old. Ian their new drummer is starting to catch the dreamy electric groove turning tight 4 min tracks into 15 min. full legnth composed art.
BP has to be respected for their relentless drive and determination. These guys tour the country 10 months out of the year. I think this year is definitely their time to shine. Catch them ASAP in a town near you...they will get their eventually I'm sure of it.
As for the show not the best recording, but just because of how hard they brought it hands down 5 stars. Damn good times!

Subject: BP is back!!!!
I'm not the review type. But, I'll give it a shot. This show stands as one of the best BP performances I've seen. Many have been skeptical and hesitant on the new addition of Ilya. Personally, I don't think too many gripes were directed towards him, but the path chosen after he was added to the band. This show is a huge slap in the face for all those doubting, including myself. Prior to this performance, I found myself bitching and moaning about standalone sets, no segues. Minimal improv, etc. Having not attended a strict standalone set, I didn't have much room to talk. First set was anything but a bore. Good song display w/ two MONSTEROUS versions of ORR and BBA. ORR, if I remember correctly really had a three part jam segment w/ all members reading perfectly. This was a real eye opener for the entire soldout crowd. I looked back at two people that I knew that were seeing this band for their first time, and they were utterly impressed. The return of UIA was such a treat, being my favorite BP song, and missing it on Friday. Then, off to the BBA. This jam brought me back to the mind journeys this band is capable of. Completely zeroing on each member and really trying to pay attention to what they were doing. This is the beauty of improv, and why this band does it so well. Very "clubby" feel. Loved every minute of it. Second set had some choice segments and segues. Getaway was a great way to attract the audience's attention. This jam took BP to a higher level. Really knowing that this band was back, and this night was on the road to being a magical one. And wow. When I heard LWTUA, I think my heart skipped a beat. Beautiful song, and they covered it perfectly. Place was jumping from floor to ceiling. Having missed it's debut on 9.17.05, I thought I'd never get the chance to see it again. I was wrong. Gangs>Mirror had some interplay between Mckee and Hamilton. Mckee playing the Gangs breakdown riff, while Hamilton playing Mirror. Also great to hear WOYM, cause it's a flatout great song, and it hasn't seen light.
Overall, this was an incredible night. It's hard to put into words. Friends, friends I haven't seen in a while, and a band that is on a relentless path. Don't sleep on this entire show.
