Sung-Hee Choi“62 Years After Hiroshima and Nagasaki: A Vision for Peace or Endless War?”, speech by Bruce Gagnon, NY, 2007 (2007)

On August 5. 2007, during the NYC trip coordinated by Anne Gibbons (Code Pink NYC) and Sally Jones (Peace Action), Bruce K. Gagnon, co-founder of the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space spoke at the Unitarian Church of All Souls in Manhattan, NY. The topic was “62 Years After Hiroshima and Nagasaki: A Vision for Peace or Endless War?” Following 50 min. speech, the period of question and answer with the audience went about 40 min..

'In the talk I outlined current U.S. provocative plans to deploy "missile defense" in Eastern Europe, and the growing concern by Russia as it now threatens to pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF). The INF Treaty came about after massive European protests in the early 1980's due to the Reagan administration deployment of the nuclear tipped Pershing II and Cruise missiles in Germany, Italy, and England in October, 1983. I concluded the talk, as I so often do these days, suggesting that we will never successfully end war until the peace movement creates a positive transformational demand calling for the conversion of the military industrial complex to sustainable technology development.'(Bruce Gagnon, http://space4peace.blogspot.com)

* The graphics in the movie were illustrated by W. B. Park. They came from Bruce Gagnon's book, "Come Together Right Now: Organizing Stories from a Fading Empire"(© Bruce Gagnon, published by Just Write Books, 2005).

* The graphic of the U.S. world spy station map and the photo of a Colorado Springs protest against space war came from the resource of the 'Citizens for Peace in Space', Colorado Springs, Colorado.

* The cover title and cover photo of Bruce Gagnon's book above were copied here.

* Many of the other photos were done by Sung-Hee Choi
