Subject: RIP Bobby...
10 years later, still one of the best BT shows I ever saw. Can't believe it's been so long since he left us.

The truth is...Tad is an AMAZING player and this is in no way an insult to him AT ALL...but Bobby just had this way of playing that fit so perfectly...those fast fingers and running lines. The perfect example to me is Trust In Trust or Slow Change...Tad plays them GREAT but Bobby just played in a way that the bottom was so tight, melodic, and you can tell - CLEARLY influenced Popper's solos along the way...they really kicked him in the as* when he played.

Notes

* with Robert Wagner (New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars) on saxophone
** with Jonathan Freilich (New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars) on guitar
# with Jean-Marx Santel (Mosaic) on guitar

This was the last time I saw Brooklyn Bobby Sheehan live in concert, and one of the best, if not THE best, Blues Traveler show I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Bobby had some new "tools" on this tour that he horoughly enjoyed playing with, and I believe he even wrote the setlist for this show, making his presence felt throughout - listen for a few "bass bombs" he drops from time to time during the show. For proof of how this show was received, listen for the reactions in the taping section on the last two tracks - the yelling and shouting at the beginning of these two tracks alone is evidence of how powerful these shows were.
