Listening to Calexico's many wonderful studio recordings is like sitting in the finest mexican restaurant you can think of.

It's an out-of-the way cafe...quirky, splendidly dim with subtle decor. The chef knows you well... but something is missing.
Despite the fact that the meal is superb... you are the only customer there. You look around and you have to admit it's a little quiet in this place tonight.

These live recordings are like being in the same restaurant except now the place is packed with a line waiting outside the door.

Viva Calexico live!

Subject: Wow, indeed!
This was the first live Calexico show my wife and I saw. I recorded it, but my recording was not nearly as good in quality as this one.

This show is a real knockout, with songs ranging from roots Latino numbers to guitar freakouts. If you get a chance to see Calexico, don't miss out. Check out this show for a great taste of how incredible this band is live.

Calexico is one of those bands that gets in your blood and stays there. Always...always look forward to these great recordings. Muchas gracias, Jim, from the Alejandro Escovedo camp.

I've bought their CDs for many years, but the great news is they can do it live! Saw them in 2007 in Darmstadt, Germany, of all places, and they are brilliant. True musicians of the highest degree.
