A few months ago, the Numia website hosted their first Netlabel Battle in which a netlabel chooses two musicians to represent them and let the people vote for their favorite tune. Good friends Makunouchi Bento won the competition, but our entrants, kaneel and surasshu, placed 2nd and fourth in their respective voting groups. Kaneel brought his usual angstfilled, glitch powered beauty, and surasshu made an amazing and dark dnb/plaidish roller. + Kaneel's entry was chosen to be featured on the battle's official 12'' vinyl release[feat. makunouchi bento, sawe and vim !].

I love this! there is a certain beauty to a two track ep... you're in and back out again in a matter of minutes, and if it doesn't pack a punch then you end up missing it entirely... on the other hand, when the beats and the samples and the loops are all in the right place, and the song creeps into your psyche, well then you feel exactly like i do right now as i type this and the songs are still resonating in my head... beautiful, intricate work... it's time to go buy a new spindle of discs and start a Camomille collection!!!
