During a drag race, Mary Henry and her two friends are forced off of a bridge. Their car sinks into the depths of a river. Mary emerges unharmed from the river, the sole survivor of the crash. She begins a new life as a church organist. Mary suddenly finds herself haunted by a ghostly figure that seems to stalk her.
This horror / thriller film is part of the Feature Film Archives and has been reformatted to work with the Video iPod.

Reviewer:flameproof - - October 6, 2009 Subject: Media Snobs Please don't take Shadow's_Girl's opinions too much to heart: she has great taste and is quite well-read, but she's also a bit of a media snob and apparently feels entitled by this to poo-poo things which don't conform to her rather narrow-minded, schmexpertish reality tunnel.
Carnival of Souls generally puts people well out of their comfort zone. Quite eerie and worth consideration.

Reviewer:The Keyboard Caper - - August 6, 2008 Subject: Low budget good movie This movie was made in three week's time under a low budget. Veteran educational artists were used. The rolls of reels were limited so cost was reduced by not re-shooting bad shots.
Still this movie gives chills to me. The movie begins with three girls in a car accepting a race challange with some boys in another car. In this mad race, the girls trip over a bridge into a river. Police searches in vain for the drowned girls and the car. Hours later one of the drowned girls, Miss Candace, mysteriously walks out of water, as if she had been just swimming in the river. Is she alive? Is she dead? Is she stuck between life and death? decide for yourself.
The end of the movie leaves us with many ideas and possibilities. One of which is, that she was stuck between life and death. When she came out of river, she was dead but did not realis that she had died. Another possibility is that she came out of river fine, but the shock of losing her friends made her think that she does not belong to the world of living; she belongs to the world of dead - to the carnival of souls.
