I wish that the mpeg2 file would be little more lesser in size.

Subject: FANTASTIC!

Bless you for preserving these gems and making them accessible!!!

I am pleased that they are available in MPEG-2 - universally accepted standard!

Windows Media, Real Video, Ogg, DiVX etc aren't universally accepted - like 13mm film VS. 35mm film

Thank you again!

Subject: With Love

We had a pizza place in my home town of Juneau, Alaska that used to show Charlie Chaplin movies all the time. This brought back some happy memories. Chaplin is a wonderful sunbeam of happiness. Rock on.

Subject: NOT DivX

DivX is a trademarked proprietary formet. An archive *cannot* use such a thing as its possible (albeit unlikey) that in 200 years things encoded in DivX won't be readable.

Just think about files created in (say) Visicalc. Once the leader in its field, now relatively unknown.

MPEG is a *documented* *standard*, and a Good Thing for an archive to use. DivX MPEG is not.

By the way, these Chaplin films are great and I'll download them in a mo' ;-)

Subject: A good example

A good example of Chaplins early work using all the talents previously honed to perfection in the English Music Hall, well worth taking the time to download.

When you watch these 4 shorts you can see why Chaplin was and still is such a great star.
