Cuba in Chicago brought some of the world’s best-known Latin percussionists together with a talented group of students to study the instruments, rhythms and history of Cuban music. Led by Don Skoog of the Contemporary Music Project, this year's week-long program was punctuated by a concert including Roberto Vizcaíno, Roberto "Tato" Vizcaíno, Jr., Jesus Diaz, Colin Douglas, Raul Pineda, Michael Spiro, Mondongo Conjuto de Latin Jazz, and the students of Cuba in Chicago. Recorded at the Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, IL, US. 02 July 2011. |
