Subject: Cindy
You've heard Cindy live. Or you haven't. This might seem like a stark dichotomy, but that is how I divide the world's denizens. Once you enter the realm of the former, you will understand.
Yikes, that Lawrencinian a couple reviews up sounds sappy, but I can indentify with his sentiment. I have beeen blessed to hear a lot of good live music the past seven years, but Cindy's performances move me like few others. Her CD is amazing, and God Bless the fact that KC Jay has put up these shows for our enjoyment. Just got re-baptized last night hearing Cindy in a joint called Danny's in South JoCo, where I wouldn't let the sun set on my dope-smoking, old-car-with-WyCo-tags-driving-ass ordinarily, and I am reborn. County Road is powerful, I am a big fan of Fairly Tale as well. I have transcribed a bunch of Cindy's songs and basically they are poems that she delivers with a style nonpareil.
Yummm.

Subject: Cool country sound!
I just grabbed this show by random from the 'this day in history' box on the front of the LMA. Interesting country sound. This girl can sing and has a beautiful voice. The matrix recording sounds amazing and this is an overal great recording! Here is their record label: MayApple Records and definately give this country performance a listen! It sounds very small and intimate and looks to be a living room show at 'Mikal's house' in Kansas City.

Subject: Great Find
I've been looking all over to find some of those hidden gems on the archive... there certainly are a lot of them. Cindy is incredible. I love her voice and style. I read she originally sang church hyms then later formed a punk band. How cool is that. Her song Nobody's Wife is great. The sound quality on this is awesome, Since there are only a couple shows to compare to, I'd still say this is a great one to listen to and worth adding to your collection... especially if you like the country/bluegrass genre.

Subject: I couldn't move
Saw Cindy and Mark at Wakarusa in June 05 at the Chipotle Stage. I believe it was Saturday morning/afternoon. I was totally blown away by the clarity, tone and warmth that was flooding over me. During/after "County Road", tears were streaming uncontrollably down my face and I found myself unable to talk or walk for at least ten minutes. I was not under the influence- that is how powerfully affected I was by Cindy's music and especially "County Road". To my surprise, I was standing up front at the Son Volt show later that day when who walks up next to me but Cindy and Mark! I felt compelled to tell Cindy of my experience that morning but am afraid I came across like a 13-year-old-girl-Beatles-fan-circa-1964-trapped-in-a-44-year-old's-man-body psychopath and perhaps unnerved her. If you remember, Cindy, and that WAS, in fact, your reaction- my apologies. Please come back and play in Lawrence as I am a local and everyone else, download this show. Quality is great and Cindy is a major songwriting talent- not to be missed.
