clutter - shopping in a shipyard town (emp001)

'Holy shit. So how is it possible that you people composed the soundtrack for MY dreams? I should sue.....your music struck me hard within about 60 seconds.' Myspace message from KRAMER

The first release by Shaun Blezard as clutter, after 2 releases under the name manassas.

Clutter works with a mixture of found sounds/field recordings and traditional instruments to produce highly textured soundscapes which drift in and out of focus. Sometimes they float beautifully near dub and dance other times they rattle your head. At all times clutter produces works of excellence.

Clutter is the brainchild of audio/visual artist shaun blezard who has produced music for film, theatre, dance and art installations.

Manassas/Clutter discography:
Manassas -
Vague Recollections On Lost Highway (EMP003)
Live At The Cavendish (EMP002)

Clutter -
Shopping In A Shipyard Town (EMP001)
The Resting Bench (TM001) (with Ann Wilson)
Anodyne Hi-Fi (EMP046)
On Ha'Penny Bridge (EMP076)

Subject: hard to pidgeonhole but simply fantastic
just came accross this album whilst discovering the internet archive....wow, is it all as good as this. Part field recordings, part boards of canada type ambience, part godspeed you black emperor guitar fuzz - it's hard to quite pidgeon hole the thing, somewhere around post rock experimental idm, or something, all shot through with a sense of nostalgia - nostalgia for what I'm not sure, somewhere lost in th UK?

I totally reckomend this album - gonna have to check out more by this clutter group/person

excellent
