Would you like to try our new video/audio player ? (beta!)

I get asked somewhat frequently whether I have an album. As of now, I do, and you can download it freely under the Creative Commons license.

The title of this is "concursion." It was an entirely unplanned thing--I hopped on Ninjam as I frequently do, and I encountered a group of my fellow musicians and we improvised this music. What you hear in this was not planned, not arranged, not edited or overdubbed. This is the sound of five people exploring with their instruments.

This is released under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike 2.5 license (because the terms of Ninjam servers require that license). I did the mixing and mastering to prepare this for release. In doing so I strove to preserve the immediacy and experimental feel of it, so I chose not to "fix anything in the mix" what you hear is representative of the experience of creating this music, not a reinventing of it after the fact in the studio.

You will hear some clicking and popping sounds--accept my assurance that these are not engineering defects, but sounds intentionally made by jam participants--so "fixing" them would have been second guessing their musical statements, and instead everything stands as it was performed.

Some of this may sound challenging--but it will continually change and unfold, and I think there's a fine balance of unity and variety. Everyone's voice comes through clearly and all of the participants are making a musical statement.

On this recording you will hear myself, chazz, nun, maxthedog, and nocarrier. Recorded December 28, 2008 on ninbot.com.
