Revisiting the days where there were no names for dubstep, grime and other similar sounds, we find Cooptrol, an uruguayan musician who has been moving through different sounds with a particular common element: the power of bass. On this occasion, this element is mediated by sharp keyboards, syncopated rhythms, pounding metal textures and commutated bits, that elegantly denotes a new Latin American sound, stepping away from that cliché of “being latino/being involved in folklore”.
Cooptrol is back and his new sound aesthetics sets it aside from the current Latin American sound, happily.
