Subject: I was at this show
I have a fairly slow DSL connection so I haven't downloaded this yet since it's lossless.

I was at the show however and I can say that it was unlike any of the dozen or so Cracker or CVB show I've been to.

I don't remember if it was the Drive By Truckers that opened or a DBT side project that opened. Probably the later. Regardless, a portion of the audience was the No Depression crowd who likely wouldn't have been there if not for the opening act. They tended to migrate to the bar for refills during the the CVB and JS material. Little Blue Fish gelled and went to a totally different level midway through. Audience chatter stopped and a lot of people were slack jawed. I'm willing to bet Johnathon sold quite a few solo albums because of that.

Yeah there were some rough spots and it wasn't as tight as it could have been, but they were playing new arrangements of songs they didn't all know particularly and figuring it out on stage as they went without a net. There's some lightning in a bottle stuff here.

Subject: Reviewer was wrong
This is a great recording. The last reviewer was wrong.
While there is some crowd noise on the recording, it is minimal, and for me, helped add to the organic quality of the music and wasn't disruptive.
This work is an excellent showcase of the band's personalities and audience repore, and is one of the few places that you will ever hear Jonathan backing up Johnny on violin, and mando. That alone makes this download priceless.
The set list here is quite unique in the catalog, and a few extra riffs were played here that never seemed to make it into other performances.
Jay H does excellent work and didn't deserve the flame that the other review gave him.

Subject: why???
there are so many great recordings out there..of cracker/camper, how can crap like this end up here. seems like the band members would be totally pissed to be represented by sub-par recordings ending up here. These guys rock...and are one of my fave bands, so why put this on here...excessive crowd noise, ho-hum performance

Notes

2nd show of the Cracker/CVB Trio tour.
