Subject: Desborough Coop Jubilee Souvenir
I am pleased this book is now more widely accessible. The PDF reproduction is excellent. It gives a wide ranging review of a Midlands town up to WW1. Without the efforts of the Desborough Coop fewer people would have owned their homes and have found employment. There would have been more hardship in the town. During WW2 the produce from the allotments, supplied originally by the Coop, helped considerably in keeping the town healthy and well fed. It is hoped this book will help to show what a great influence the Cooperative Movement had during the 19th and 20th centuries.
