A set recorded as part of "Winter Wondersong", the Bristol Feral Choir's debut performance (and benefit concert for Gaza children's hospital). Organic acoustic psychedelic jamming, with a Northumbrian lullaby as encore. Also includes a version of "Pat-a-pan" sung by the BFC with Jim and Matthew from OT? (on low whistle and saz, respectively).
Notes
Matthew - saz Keith - electric bass guitar Henry - percussion Jim - low whistle, melodica, glockenspiel This was only the second time Jim (formerly of the Invisible Opera Company of Tibet) had played with us. The first piece started as a soundcheck jam and just carried on as the intermission finished and people started drifting back into the auditorium. The Zoom H2 digital recorder was placed in front of one of the PA speakers, hence the rather muddy sound (enhanced with a bit of EQ and compression). At least two other recordings appear to have been made, including one of the desk. "Bonny at Morn" is traditional Northumbrian. "Pat-a-pan" (which features Matthew and Jim accompanying the Bristol Feral Choir) is a traditional midwinter song. All other tunes are Matthew's. Thanks to Melski for organising the event and inviting us! |
