Subject: fascinating!
A big part of that is presumably due to the lineup changes they had when they relocated to Santa Cruz. Judging from the sonic evidence and the known history of the band, in addition to Lowery on rhythm guitar/lead vox and Krummenacher on bass/backing vox, that's definitely Segel on violin: He joined the band as soon as they relocated, and no-one plays the violin like him, with that shrieking style. They had another violin player in Redlands, but the other guy had a quite different style.
It's also almost certainly Chris Molla on guitar, as he seems to have been a constant presence in the band's very early years, and it sounds like him to boot. Also, on 'I Don't See You,' it sounds like Lowery says 'Take it, Chris' before the guitar break.
Probably Richie West on drums too, as he joined the band when they relocated.
Subject: Interesting listen.
Subject: College Party???
The recording sounds fairly close-up but kinda muddy with loud bass and vocals that are going through a weak PA system. Other than David Lowery and Victor K's voices, I can't tell who else is in the band at this point, the "musicianship" is not really there, maybe everyone's real drunk.
Thanks to whoever posted this, and thanks to CVB for okaying it and thanks to Internet Archive. What a blast to hear these old shows!!
