Subject: Hello there Basis
SJSS - Barber really does everything he can to make this jam boring from the start. The lick he plays for a LONG time is not interesting at all, though Magner and Sammy are really doing all they can to save the jam. Barber picks up the pace later in the jam, and does a pretty good job. This jam goes from boring, monotonous Barber to soaring shred Barber. Still though, the jam itself is nothing out of this world.
Munchkin > Paint the Day > Invasion - Munchkin has an upbeat jam with lots of wah guitar from Barber. Sort of funky-ish sounding Biscuits. If you like that style, you'll most likely like this jam. I cannot stand Paint The Day. The lyrics embody everything about jambands I hate. The jam back into Munchkin is pretty straightforward, nothing special.
IRW - Standalone.
Ladies - Very good Ladies jam. They get some dirty themes going, and Barber is definitely on point, playing some really cool riffs. Extremely enjoyable jam, though they seem to just drop out of nowhere back into the song.
Crystal Ball - The jam here is pretty good! Very spacey sounding, Barber playing around with different themes with a lot of delay, multi chord progression from Magner, and Sammy working well with Brownstein. Very blissful sounding.
Basis > Waves > KOTW > Basis - Classic Basis sounding intro. Very patient playing from everybody, perfect theme building. This is absolutely wonderful. The middle jam is another happy Biscuits jam, and extends where the middle portion would normally be. The jam out of Basis into Waves isn't all that interesting, and doesn't seem to go anywhere, though Magner does use one my favorite effects, the one sounds like it's saying "Yao" (as in Yao Ming) but extending the word a long time. Magner is doing some cool stuff once they start getting a little closer to Waves, but still overall the jam isn't that interesting. The Waves > KOTW jam, I like. I don't have a ton to say about it, but it's an average-good jam. The jam out of KOTW back into Basis on the other hand is phenomenal! This is classic Barber-led triumphant Biscuits.
Barfly - Not my favorite song so much. In fact this is probably my least favorite style of music they play.
The Basis intro is very good, as is the KOTW > Basis, and the Crystal Ball isn't bad either. Other than that, not much worth re-listening to ever.
