Subject: excellent listen
That's not Cronkite carrying the narration. That's Robert Trout--listen to D-day footage and the voice is exactly the same--not the mild Texas drawl of Cronkite, but the voice that brought order out of confusion on D-day. great find.

Subject: Not just..
What makes this inaugral speech so great in my opinion is the fact that it's not JUST the speech, we pick it up just when Richard Nixon is inaugerated, then we have a song, then a blessing from a speech, then Truman gets inaugerated, then we get his speech. I do believe this was taken from a radio broadcast, (sounds like Walter Cronkite, though I'm not sure if he was doing radio at the time?). Anyways, Truman's speech is ok, nothing to get worked up about,,
