The encore's of this show really showcase the new found 'Sweet-Spot' that the band was destined to find through all the growing pains over the past 24+ years. "Midnite Hour" simply ROCK'S.... as it should, crisp lyrics and striking rhythms by Bobby, (finally....;), some great leads and strong lick's by John take this one 'home'- folks !!! Then, there's this REALLY UNIQUE KEY CHANGE ON PIANO AS THE TRANSITION INTO..... . "....>'Playing in the Band>..." begins. Jeff C. hits a higher note liltingly, just before this staple lands into the full "Reprise"..... it's refreshingly nice!!!.........
AND...... so, I put my headphones on and took the doggie out for his evening walk, continuing to listen to this UNBELIEVABLE SHOW!!! Starting at the START of "Playin',,,>...", (on the pre- "...drums>space>..." side of the set. It was Sunset, at the North Shore of LI Sound, which has been no stranger to many meditative moments over the years, crankin' "this" or "that" - GD show. When John Mayer began singing "Uncle John's Band", as well as it's EVER been played, I thought to myself, "Yes man!!!!, 'good ole' 'Funny Uncle' - John HAS "...Come to take [his] Children 'Home'....", alas!!!!!! And ya' just gotta be blown away!!!!! I MEAN IT,!!!- AS AN 'OLD TIMER', (42+YRS of literally listening to THOUSANDS of HOURS of Grateful Dead performances....), I've FOUND the last s years of "Dead & Co.", (particularly from [about] 6-18-2018, in "Autzen", on....) EVERYONE HAS FOUND THEIR FOOTING, to be sure, and the synchronicity among band members is APPARENTLY BACK!!!!! THIS NIGHT IS PROOF of just THAT!!! AND IT DELIGHTS THE "OLDEST" of "us"-with absolute GLEE !!!!! There AIN'T NO TURNING BACK NOW.!!!- EVERYTHING WE LOVE ABOUT THE GRATEFUL DEAD has, INDEED, RETURNED, (MINUS MR. GARCIA, HIMSELF!!!!) ... It' off to MSG on Halloween, - 2019, 40yrs. TO THE DAY/DATE of my FIRST 'EVER' SHOW, 10/31/1979-!!) ....... and in the meantime,....... My renewed excitement for what "Dead & Co," are 'PUTTING OUT THERE', has me eager to get back into both COLLECTING these NEW SHOWS - WITHOUT HESITATION, and SURE I GET TO AS MANY OF THEM AS POSSIBLE !!!!!!! NO REASON TO NOT BE EXITED BY THE NEW SEASON, AND NATURAL EVOLUTION of THE GREATEST BAND EVER. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great recording. I had to miss this show, and I am so happy for your efforts and sharing for all of us. Love the great capture of Jeff Chimenti's piano. Sounds killer. I'm giving it 5-stars for great capture and great setlists too. (~):}

Subject: Great night !
Subject: Great night !
I was standing next to the taper section Lawn. Very impressed with this recording. Many talkers and a dude screaming directly behind me. The shotgun mics worked and did not pick up on the aud noise. Great jams and great show. JM was on fire, Cumberland, Cassidy. Maybe I am old school but I would like the band to merge into some songs that are not pre planned and let the music take them. Rating: Recording 9 out of 10 (10 SBD)
JM 9 out of 10. Band overall 8 out of 10. Setlist 8 out of 10. Merging songs 7 out of 10. Overall 4 1/2 stars

Tight, crisp, and everything you could ever want for D&Co. So many great moments, definitely worth a listen.
