Subject: Why? I told you why, "bloke". Sheesh.
Look, "rainydaybloke", I explained quite clearly (in the very section your quoted) "why" I did what I did with the sector boundaries. Since 99% of the music I listen to is played from a hard drive (and because I don't want the recording shared except as FLAC) I didn't see any sense in adhering to CD standards when I was editing. Like you said; it's "easy to fix". So do it. But please don't share it that way.
My guess is that you're one of the ingrates from Orate who were flaming because I asserted some rights over my recording. All I ask is that you don't share it "lossy" (in keeping with the band's wishes as well as my own) or on CD. If you can't live with that, please don't download the recording.
Besides; what the Hell are you complaining about? Something I've given to you gratis! I'm not a faceless corporation, with crazy copy-protection. I'm just one man who's produced good things for this community. I don't mind if you share the recording. All I ask is that you don't share my recording in any format except the original FLAC.
That's a simple request. If you can't live with that or you don't like the way I did things, don't download my recordings. It's too easy.
Thank-you for your time.

Subject: Why ?
"The CD sector boundary errors are both intentional and serendipitous; The Decemberists don't want their music shared "lossy" and I don't want my recording burned to a CD (which can easily be "ripped" to MP3)."
This approach won't prevent lossy distribution and it doesn't invite people who respect the band's wishes to download the show = lose/lose
SBEs are easily fixed, so why not do it properly for the fans? Traders Little Helper for PC, xACT for Mac - simple!
Microphone position was about 5" to the right of DFC on the mixing platform. Rich was expecting me (I'd emailed their management a few weeks before the show) and was very accommodating; placing my stand near his own stereo ribbon. He was recording the event, feeding each channel, the board mix, and the ribbon into a small ProTools rig.
In spite of the fact that the microphone position was behind the balcony lip, the well-mixed performance and the well-treated (yet "live") room present a very listenable recording. Enjoy!
P.S. - The CD sector boundary errors are both intentional and serendipitous; The Decemberists don't want their music shared "lossy" and I don't want my recording burned to a CD (and I definitely don't want to see it as an MP3). It should play fine in whatever media player you're using. There you have it.
Share this recording as FLAC or not at all.
