Wow. I have seen Del perform a few times in the 2000s, but never thought i would find anything like this, let alone for free on the archive.
Top notch recording. Great artifact showing how "traditional bluegrass" was sounding right around 1969 sex-drugs-rocknroll times.
In a time where every style, genre, or body of music is so blended and fuzed, its nice to hear some good ole' fashion Del.
As others have said, this is a gem. Thank you to whoever uploaded this!

Shade Gap isnt anywhere near Gettysburg. Shade Gap is about two hours west of Gettysburg. In Fulton County I believe.

Is it just me or when Del talks in his wry little way, doesn,t he sound like Snoop Dogg?

An outstanding show, well recorded. "Dark Hollow" is as good as it gets and, if it didn't make the charts, it should have. What's amazing is how true to his art this performer has remained for at least 35 years. He's still as fresh, original, and dazzling now as he was then. Fans of fast-picked mandolin and banjo especially will find a lot to like in this show.
P.S.: There really is a Shade Gap, PA, pop. 97!

I love this show! The sound quality is great, and Del is charming as can be. Also, it's just one disc, so it's a quick download/burn. And I can't forget the awesome harmonies the band creates! I recommend this show for any bluegrass fan.
