Subject: Gotta be in the middle!
Thanx Martin. This is not a five star recording, but certainly way better than the previous reviewer's criticism. I agree there are much crispier Del shows available, even audience recordings. This is still a mighty fine listen, despite the instruments being in the back a bit and the bass lacks definition. The vocals are more out front, which I don't understand with one microphone. Del audience recordings are generally even.
The crowd is loud and sounds a bit boozed up, but hey its a NYE party. I love the guests. Ronnie Bowman guests on "Little Cabin" and is uncredited in the notes.
I like the recording enough to open my radio show with "1952 Vincent" and "Sweet Baby's Arms". Peace

Subject: Disappointing
Good performance, but Del and the boys are consistantly excellent. The audio is well below par. The band sounds far away, and there's a good deal of crowd noise. Listenable, but there are far crisper shows on the archive.

Subject: Thank you!
I loved this recording, I was at the show but I missed the second part (the one after midnight). The quality is quite good too. Sometimes applauses tend to cover bluegrass instruments, but it's absolutely OK.
Thanks indeed.
