Subject: Outstanding!
I accidentally discovered this listing while I was looking for another band. Wow! what a pleasant surprise! The band puts out a superb performance and the recording quality is top-notch. I had never heard of Delta Moon before this recording, but I decided to give them a listen after reading the reviews here. I enjoy bluesy rock with slide guitar, so this was a real treat to listen to.I can't add much to the previous reviews that hasn't been said already, so I'll just say "if you like this style of music, go ahead and listen to this band." You won't be disappointed.

Subject: Like Slide?
Delta Moon is an Atlanta staple - you get to see them at all the cool Juke Joints and festivals. The two guitarists both play slide and bring that swampy, Miss. Hill Country flavor that really sets a mood. You'll enjoy the energy of this set no doubt.

Subject: Set 2?!
Outstanding recording and performance; tremendous stage presence and musical depth. Forget about all the goobers like Toby Keith, Chesney, B&D, and their shallow, feel-good hooey, THIS is live Southern music at it's low-down finest! Tell me 'Let Tomorrow Be' doesn't sound like J. Joplin reincarnate! Now, if ONLY Set 2 were added on LMA, I might be persuaded to buy some of those Delta Moon CDs!!

Subject: Delta Moon - Capitol Oyster Bar, Montgomery, AL
FINALLY! Delta Moon plays Alabama!
I saw these folks in Tampa a couple years ago and they completely blew me away. On April 22, 2006 they played at Capitol Oyster Bar in Montgomery, Alabama. Great setting. As Tom said, "Like a mini-Skipper's Smokehouse." The new bass player fit in seamlessly. And, as much as I liked Gina Leigh's vocals, Kristin is even better. Two long sets of their originals with a few great covers mixed in and the band, the crowd, and the city were all happy! The cover of the Stones' "Shine A Light" was a high point for me. "Shake 'Em On Down", "Officer", and "Baby, Please Don't Go" were especially nice.
This is one, tight, talented band. The guitar interplay is alternately gorgeous and ferocious. Tom's and Kristin's vocals are both top notch. And to top it all off, these folks are as nice as they are talented.
We look forward to their return.

Saw them live in October 05 and loved them. They had the whole park bouncing. Krista ( female lead ) really gets into the music. I got soem excellent photos of her and others in the band. If you can, go hear them live, they are traveling in the SouthEast, but also up north now. Played in NY and Jersey, I think. Pick up a cd or three if you can. Order from their web site. Great sound. While at the concert I picked up their album, "howlin', more great sounds. Tom Gray is the male vocal.

Subject: pretty good
these guys play tight. gets a little stale at times. However i'm no huge fan of the southern jam scene (with the exception of the allmans...of course). You can definitely tell these guys/gal(s) are talented and have room to go places. Great female vocals as well. If you like southern rock, get this show.

Subject: Smoking blues / southern rock and roll !
I had never heard of this band before today, but I wanted to give the new archive 'spotlight' show a listen. Luckily the uploader allowed mp3's and m3u streams to be on this show, so I was able to listen at work. A really fun, super tight band. The lead singer is a female who sounds younger, but a deeper / huskier voiced male also sings lead sometimes. The style is definately upbeat blues / southern rock and roll. the type of music you'd hear at a house of blues show or at a local bar in the south .. Down home rock and roll that is heavily blues influenced. Think B.B. King... The recording quality is excellent. Soundboard and you don't hear the audience at all.. this could be an official live release for this band. Only bummer is that this band has been OK for archive.org since Nov 04 and no shows have been put up. This show was only added in Dec 05, and is still the only show of the band up here. Let's get some more up here, this genre is usually not taper friendly, so we should support bands like this that encourage the tapers to come out and capture the live energy of their performances. A fun live sound for sure, check these guys out next time they come to your town, I know I will!

Subject: A Pleasant Surprise!
WOW! This show has some major voodoo goin' on.
Here is a fantastic example of why the "Show Highlight" section on the home page is a great opportunity for showcasing talent.
Why has no one heard of these folks. Great female lead singer along with sparkling instrumentalist.
Guys and gals, this show is a no brainer.
Download it, share with as many people as possible, go see 'em live if they are in your neighborhood and buy their CDs.

Subject: Hot Blues Rock
OK, its winter and cold outside. Do yourself a favor and download this smokin show. If you need a little traveling music or a general pick me up, get this one.
This was a release for their 4th CD Howlin. The band has two slide guitar players who can both smoke at times and at other times blend into the total song and not overwhelm it. In addition, they have a great lead vocalist and the rest of the band can create some pretty good harmonies.
They have 3 other CDs out. I took a chance on them after reading a revue in Blues Revue and bought Goin Down South. I liked it so much, that I bought every other one also. I have several friends that I had listen to their CDs and they all agreed on this band. For more info, check out their website @ http://www.deltamoon.com/
If you are a fan of the Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, Derek Trucks Band, Sonny Landreth, and other slide guitar players, I think you will enjoy Delta Moon.
This is a very welcome addition to the LMA. I hope to see some more shows from them and other blues artists also.

Nice solid recording of a great show. Download this and get your friends to listen to it and spread the word about Delta Moon - if all their performances are like this they're going to develop a huge following very quickly.

Great rock, sometimes bluesy, with a female vocalist. Wonderful performance, great sound quality.
Recorded by the house soundman, not sure of the hardware. We received as an audio CD. Ripped with Blaze Audio's Jill the Ripper to Wave. Cut up in Wavelab 4.0. Burned to data disc.
Note: CD release party for 'Howlin'
