Wanton, wild and kicky
Derivative of Lewis' Monk, but it takes the plot in some nifty directions. Two parallel plots move side by side, and the reader often wonders how they play into one another, but if (s)he is patient, they do merge in a very dramatic way. The characters are all flat as a pancake, except for the central villain, whose conscience plagues him when it isn't drowned out by lust. The language is over-the-top - I didn't know 'wanton' was a verb, but at one point, two lovers are 'wantoning' all night on a chapel floor (ouch).
