Subject: THE DIXIE WAGON IS STILL ROLLING!
Andy's 6-string bass sounds SO GOOD on this tape. The overall mix is really pleasant-sounding, my only beef is the loud vocal delay. I hope that the fact that this is a SBD matrix means that the echo on the ends of some of the vocal phrases was not as loud at the show as on this tape. Other than that- Awesome tape, the Blue Line is SUPER CLEAN and enthusiastic, the Welcome Back My Friend reminded one of my friends of Pink Floyd. . . and the NOTHING BUT FLOWERS with the HEATMAN JAM is superb!
note1- Heatman is a song by Vitamen A, http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php?collection=etree&cat=Vitamen%20A
note2- if you think I am being overly picky about the vocal delay on the ends of phrases, keep in mind that I mixed sound for this band for about 250 shows over two years, and I have some very specific things that I listen for.
note3- This show is a reunion show- Blue Dixie stopped playing together in december 1994, so all shows after that are reunions of a sort.
note4- only known recorded versions of several new songs- Whisper In The Night, Dev's Sidestep, Playing With Fire, Sleeping Beauty, and Come A Stranger, I think (Come A Stranger was played in July 2005, after this fileset was placed on the LMA). Also I never heard 'em do She Said She Said by the Beatles before.
Notes
These files were torrented on bt.etree.org here- http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=15482 but I renamed some files to correspond to standard etree naming, and correctly place a disc 2/3 break.
