The atmosphere Christian Galarreta creates is very difficult to pin down. But he has a knack for creating order out of absolute sonic chaos via laptop and cut-up looping techniques. Christian Galarreta: is a sound artist and laptop performer, born in Lima-Perú. From a young age he has been musically trained in different fields, studying piano and composition in the conservatory of Lima. In 1998, he spent a year developing skills in Digital Electronics at the Systems Peruvian Institute (SISE), to become familiar with computers and electronic circuit construction. He has applied this knowledge in his music in various recording studios for the technical development and exploration of sounds resulting in numerous releases, performances and sonorous installations. His work is presently based in the process of digital noise in real time, using technical errors in the software and the sound frequencies at high levels of volume.
