Holograph
William Lloyd Garrison hoped to hear Mrs. Abby Kelley Foster's explanation of how she came to be "grievously wounded" by a remark that he made at the New England Convention. Garrison writes: "I hear tht you believe or suppose that I attributed to you intentional dishonesty in the manner of procuring money of prominent members of the Republican party." Garrison repudiates the accusation. Garrison "neither impeached, nor meant to impeach" Foster's integrity. He admires Foster's "character and moral heroism" and holds their friendship, of more than a quarter of century, dear to his heart
