Show Review by Dusty:
Next stop was the beautiful Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware. This venue was NICE. The band kicked it off, and there were a few spectators still sitting through the first three. It didn't take too long before damn near everyone was into it. Even still, a few guests SITTING right in front of the stage. Before Scott sat down and kicked off his shoes for the second set, the VIP (a small section rght in front of the stage with a few, maybe 4 rows of chairs) was cleared out for the masses to gather and get down! The crowd loosened up considerably in the second, and all had a blast. Scarlett>fire>playin kicked it off, and the place blew up! What a night! This was a great set list from 87, a treat for me to hear 2 Brent tunes in one set! The Encore was good shit, with the U.S. flag waving wide and high in the crowd. Good Times! Thanks For Real Good Times!
Before I forget, thanks to The Dude for hooking me up with the chinese food before the show, and to Sitch Pete for keeping the trip going all the way to the Ledges!
CD Review by Webmaster Ed:
I was at the original show with my 7 month pregnant younger sister who I was afraid would give birth to a flipper baby from the LOUD bass Phil was throwing into that room. This DSO show does a fine job representing the vibe of the original although I don't remember the Brent songs being so powerful. Scott Larned kicks it up a notch in Far From Me.
Second set highlights are the jam into Fire and Sugar Magnolia Reprise when the crowd really gets into it. The Playin sandwich is pretty amazing too. It sounds like the band had a lot of fun doing this show. Delaware Rocks!
