Subject: Awesome show
Subject: Awesome show
With Jeff Mattson at the helm, it seems as though every show has the energy of '78. Every solo he plays is a face melter.
I know that many people are going to not like what I'm about to say, but I like Jeff more that John. While John played more true to the year/era, seriously, every solo Jeff plays leaves you crying and craving for more.
For me, the highlights include Scarlet Begonias and Passenger. Bird Song is fantastic as well. And Might as Well was an awesome opener for the second set.
I was at this show and it was absolutely amazing. My favorite Dead era was the late '70s. Even though the set was from '81, it certainly delivered that rock edge that was crunchiest in the late '70s.
I'm living in Poland now and I can't wait to see them in Amsterdam.
