Subject: Duuuuude!
Extremely lightweight Hoot Gibson vehicle here. Using the familiar ¡°stranger comes into town just about the same time a mysterious avenger starts putting the bad guy to pasture but everyone is too stupid to put 2 and 2 together¡± theme westerns like to utilize, (they also like to put superhero names to them as well) Gibson plays the title role, but noone seems to know this, because he¡¯s also a mild-mannered cowboy coming back into town after his father¡¯s death (and also to clear his business from shady cattlemen). There is of course the lame lame love interest, which doesn¡¯t really blossom until the final 30 seconds of this movie (and other movies too). So, if you¡¯re not expecting much, and you better not be!! This is an alright rabble rouser.
And yes, this print is pretty banged up.

Subject: A Standard Hooter
BEWARE! The first two reels as shown here are chopped and missing dialogue, HOWEVER! If you're streaming video you can move forward to the point where the first two reels are repeated from a much better print and the rest of the film is of good quality. This is the "standard" Hoot Gibson with his "I'm just a country bumpkin" routine on the flip side of his "man of action" routine. It's a winning formula for him and he plays it well. The rest of the cast is all professional, even the ingenue. Story isn't bad either. If you only see one Hoot Gibson film, this one shown-cases his pleasant personality and acting "style" as good as any. You will appreciate why he was such a huge western "star" in his day.
