Digi HartatakDull Duco Dances (January 10, 2009)

5 hypnotic and sensual tracks (except track 1 which is rash and vulgar) from Digi Hartatak.

Spaceface is an allusion to reason that started off as a 3/4 time blueprint for a giant electronic iron maiden project that seemed interesting at the time but never went anywhere so I carelessly added some synth, some space related samples and a few words I wrote on the way to the office yesterday. Uses Freesound samples from one of my loop sample packs.

Deadman Beatbox Demo is a track demonstrating the deadman beatbox soundfont I created for the Deadman Beatbox VSTi that I started but have yet to finish I have included the soundfont used in the two demos for download.

Deadman Beatbox Demo2 is another mix of the deaman beatbox soundfont and the prototype for the abandoned Deadman Of The Opera VSTi project along with some vintage drum machine sounds.

Edison Loop Demo uses sounds from my Freesound edison loop sample pack along with some drum programming and a track of Edison talking to spice it up for you MDMA experience. Sounds are actually from a phonautograph recording Edison made of train tracks in NY a hundred years or so ago.

Gaza Gizzards starts off all hurky jerky with lofi arabic phrasing set to cold drum machine hits but thankfully transforms into a slightly smooth jazz inspired shoe gazing IDM experience at a down tempo pace.

All tracks are stragglers from the voyetra software that's being phased out of use.

I never took you for a Mac person, you seem cool.. just kidding, but please tell me you can use soundfonts on a mac. Sure can!

http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/SOUND_FONTS/

They are sample sets in a convenient format with loop points and pitch mapping already set up like little sound modules.

As for the stereo thing, the old software did not support stereo tracks so any time you edit two mono tracks panned hard left and hard right you have to move each one seperately and that caused some phase cancellation chorus/flange effects sometimes. It also had a nasty aliasing effect when converting sample rate or bit depth but it's fading away as I move all the unfinished song tracks out to new software.

That ain't a chick!

Thanks for the reviews fellers!

I like the first tune a lot. Spacy
I like the little breakdown at 2:38 cool guitar and synth effects.

The Deadman beatbox demos are fun.
I'm on a mac so I guess the soundfont stuff is not for me.
I barely understand what that's all about.

Gazagizzard's has it's moments.
What's up with the way the monoish samples suddenly go
to stereo for 8 bars at 0:33? Rather jarring, or was that the point?
I like the groove it goes into around 2:18.

Oooooo.... When I hear that Eastern female chick voice in the first half of Gaza Gizzards I get this strange desire to go Hamas and shoot rockets off at my neighbors. Diggin it.
