The Florida reader/reviewer makes some excellent points about the poor quality of scans and deceptive procedures Google has been using. It would be nice to be able to eliminate Google-scanned books from a search. They often say that there is no other ebook available but the Google scan but I have constantly found this to be completely wrong. A second search turns up a non-Google text. Caveat emptor, IA.

EARLY WESTERN TRAVELS is a fantastic series consisting of 32 Volumes including the two Indexes.
Every company who scanned one or more of these or any Volumes for you had the courtesy, and took the time to list the Volume Number in the listing EXCEPT google. I guess google feels that one should look at every one of googles scans to find out what Volume you are looking at, only to find that some Volumes are listed multiple of times.
If you do a download from google one selects from your box for which format is wanted. If it is a google download you have to click on googles hidden format menu to start the download, before the down load starts you have to complete a security question which I consider to be a waste of time and just more of googles BS. The first time I downloaded via google it took me an hour to get the security question right. I know I'm in my 70's and that my eyesight is not that great, but didn't realize it was that bad. Then I realized the question was CASE SENSETIVE, but you have to figure that out on your own as google doesn't have the courtesy to inform you that the security question is case sensitive.
Once you download from google you find that google did not scan the illustrations, graphs etc. Today I downloaded Volume XV of Early Western Travels from google the download size from google was 7.89 MB then I got to noticing that others that had scanned Volume XV download size was in the 15.+ MB, I deleted googles download. I wish I hadn't as I would like to see what they left out.
If you save your download from any company other company than google they will give you a short line of text and a Volume Number in the Save Title line; Google gives you "Complete.pdf".
I have been faulting google for the immature work that they are or are not doing, but also feel that you are somewhat responsible for their poor showing and performance on your site. Someone from your organization should have caught all of the above and corrected it a LONG Time ago.
I know you are working hard to upgrade your site and make it a pleasant experience for all. For me all of the above does nothing to enhance the experience.
Sincerely,
