Subject: Post 1882 Electricification of the USA by Edison.
The Edison Electric Light Company in a little more than 4 years had revolutionized the the artificial illumination system in the USA, Because of a superior product, the Edison Incandescent Light had begun to replace gas and arc lamp illumination in commercial and domestic buildings as well as for street lighting. Future governmental and local state statistics will find that the violent crime rate starting in 1885 declined and the life expectancy rate increased. Passable explanations for this is the improved lighting in high crime areas and the removable of the inherent dangers of gas with less gas fires, explosions and asphyxiations. Eventual water plumbing systems for sanitation and fire hydrants using Edison electric pump motors to reduce fire damage added to improved vital statistics for major cities like New York. AFL
