Subject: So-so recording, great concert
This is well worth knowing for lots of reasons. The tracks backed by Quasi are very strong; unfortunately, you have to listen past audience chatter & a poor mix to appreciate them. The approach is calm, restrained, very *un*like the '98 & '99 tours with Quasi & there are few places where you can hear full band versions of "Miss Misery" or "Rose Parade." Once Elliott goes acoustic, the sound improves, but Elliott's crowd interaction and his singing/guitar-playing are entertaining/excellent throughout. And it's a *long* performance that even includes a drastically different early version of "I'm Doing OK, Pretty Good."
