Subject: are you sure he didn't write them?
i could have sworn he said before reading poem #1 "alright, but i might fuck it up because i made it up" about 2 minutes into the track.
i don't know.
in any case this is amazing and makes me smile.

I agree with the note above - the hardcore fans will definitely adore this. This version of Waltz #2 (XO) may not be the best quality but it still strikes me as better than some of the best quality songs I have heard in a while. He's amazing.

Notes

Show/poetry reading at the knitting factory in nyc, someone in the audience has heard the 2nd poem before and doesn't like it, but elliott says he really wants to read it anyway cos it means something to him. plays 4 songs. breaks up a fight.

*WARNING* This show is for completists only. The sound quality is fairly bad, and Elliott only plays four songs (four songs which he played regularly throughout his career). If you're a casual fan you're probably going to want to start anywhere but here. *WARNING*

This is the somewhat infamous poetry show. The poems Elliott reads are not written by him. I am not certain of the source of the show (it sounds like a cassette recorder) or the lineage (I ripped it from an unknown gen CDR). The sound is audible but muffled (it's easy to hear him play and sing but not so much to hear him talk). I'm not entirely sure of the backstory to the night, but a google search indicated that it was a poetry night with lots of different people reading.

If you're a seriously hardcore fan, you're probably going to love this.
