Subject: Best old solo show
Not sure why people think this isn't a great performance of Elliott's. I've always thought this was his best performance from 2003, when things seemed to start to fall apart from him.
The setlist is a great mix of brand new (Coast to Coast) and old songs (like Plainclothes Man from Heatmiser). The sound quality is amazing and was what shocked me when I first listened to it. This is one of Elliott's best live shows, IMO.

Subject: Tuned Out Disaspointment
Elliot's voice is out of tune and it seems his mind is elsewhere as well. This is a sad listen but explains a lot about where he was going soon.

Subject: Average at best
I love Elliot Smith, but this show is kind of poor for him in my opinion. His voice is really shakey (as another reviewer pointed out) and there doesn't seem to be a lot of investment in what he's doing on stage. Of course I'm in the minority on this one, but do yourself a favor and stream it before downloading it.

Subject: One of the better 2003 shows
Great sound and a great set too. He ends with a cover of Blackbird. This is one show any Elliott Smith fan needs!

Subject: great soundboard
This is one of Elliott's better performances from the sketchy later part of his career/life. His voice is a bit shaky at times (compared to his earlier shows), but the show is heartfelt and emotional (aren't all Elliott shows?). Extra sad listening to this one, knowing he would be dead a just few months later. The sound is very clear, similar to the 5/18/98 San Francisco show. Wonderful version of I Figured You Out, and the Blackbird cover...nice. Great line before Satellite, "This one's for Christine, hope I don't fuck it up!" I live in Austin, but missed this show, thanks so much for posting this.
Smith's final visit to Austin was in tribute to friend and musician Glynn Allen Owens, who had recently died. All the proceeds from the show went to the Glynn Owens Foundation for Educational Scholarships. You can read more on Glynn here: http://www.fivewells.com/glynn.html
Please check out my Elliott Smith archive at www.trashtreasury.com for shows that haven't made their way onto the archive yet.
