Subject: I recorded the Show
These guys are a Grateful Dead Cover Band with more intense Rock & Roll style soloing. They play every Monday night at Winston's in Ocean Beach, California.

Among their fans is the eternal Dead Head, Bill Walton. In the NBA offseason he often makes appearances and sometimes brings his sons. He has featured them on his radio program and had them perform at his house.

This was a special occasion as their former member, Tyler Grant, was in town and performed about half the show with them.

Check it out for yourself. There will be more shows uploaded and there are starting to be some video clips on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvgEN4gVi54)

Subject: A good time was had by all
Stumbled into Winston's by accident and caught a performance by this band... might be the most fun I've had since they closed Winterland! These fellas have their own unique interpretation and styling of the songs but they stay close enough to the originals to evoke the true spirit of the Dead. Quite an eclectic and adventurous songlist, and they're not afraid to shake it up a bit. The night I was there they played a thunderous Help OTW>Slipknot>Foolish Heart! That's okay, I got my Franklins Tower on this recording, and it's pretty darn good. Definitely one of the best GD cover bands around. The recording here is good, nice mix, could use a touch more bass for my taste (Phil agrees), enjoy the little bits of crowd reaction. The performance is exceptional. If I ever make it back to Ocean Beach you can be sure I'll drop in for a listen. Be careful, though... there were so many kids dancing that someone could get hurt! And yeah, a couple of us old farts kicked up our heels, too. Thanks EWB, Winston's and Jim C. May the four winds blow you safely home...
