William Lloyd Garrison gives four reasons why he is considering going abroad this summer: the benefits to his health; the pleasure of meeting his daughter Fanny Garrison Villard and her husband (Henry Villard) and his son Frank (Francis Jackson Garrison) at the Paris Exhibition; a World's Anti-Slavery Congress is to be held in Paris and William Lloyd Garrison has been asked to appear as a delegate for the American Freedmen's Commission; and finally, to see his old anti-slavery friends in England once more
