Subject: Fashion is spinach??
I didn't get the joke on the title. THe book is a personal account of Ms. Hawes who in her day was a notable American designer. Though the writing I found could be a bit uneven in places and lost the thread of her thought it was overall an insiders look in being an American designer. She worked in Paris and ultimately open her shop in NY. Ms. Hawes was definitely bucking the trend yet had to succomb at times in order to support her business.
