Thank your posting this excellent collection of wartime pictures in the Philippines.
On our side of the Pacific, we call this period the Philippine-American War and I think from your side of the Pacific, you refer to it as the Philippine Insurgency.
My copy of the book was purchased from a US dealer/collector who specializes in US/PI Coins, Medals, Paper Money and Books sometime in the year 2001.
Tonight, I did a page by page comparison with the copy that you posted and the page sequence is very different except for the first page.
I checked the binding and it looks untouched and not tampered with. I also remember the US dealer assuring me the book has no missing pages. And it looks real old the cover has faded and the pages are yellowed.I am positive about the authenticity.
Overall, I think you folks did a job sharing this historical photos on the INTERNET.

As a Filipino who is now based in the US, I know how important to keep these historical photographs, despite the fact that Filipino elders who were tasks to protect our libraries and other national treasures in the Philippines were not able to do so. I hope the pictures can still be enhanced.
