Subject: I Could Cry, Too
"Don't serve your awful coffee with my steaks!" a husband sneers to his wife at a backyard barbeque. But Folger's saleswoman Mrs. Olsen comes to the rescue."I'm such a washout at making coffee!" moans the upset wife, "I could cry!" But thanks to Mrs. Olsen's help and Folger's mountain grown the husband now says, "From now on, you can make coffee at all my barbecues!" Now she's really stuck. Does she really want to get roped into making coffee every time her husband cooks steak? Or anytime, come to think of it. Thanks for nothing, Mrs. Olsen.

Subject: Pour the coffee on his head
In my opinion, they should have ended the commercial by the wifey pouring hot Folgers coffee on his head.
It would have sold more jars of Folgers coffee.
IN MY OPINION.

Subject: It's amazing....
All of these coffee commercials are the same! This is part of an advertising campaign Folgers had for awhile where all the commercials followed the same plot line:
Some complete A-hole berates his wife for the quality of her coffee. I mean, really yells at her until she wants to cry.
Then a neighbor/friend/family member/shopkeep steps into recommend Folgers.
The lady makes Folgers, which comes out perfect no matter what, and she is once again accepted by her husband. They kiss and make up. His violent tendencies are forgotten.
You see, men were not allowed to make coffee in the 60's. If you keep that in mind, these commercials make more sense. He was cranky because he needed caffeine, but couldn't get it unless a woman made good coffee for him.
I'm giving 5 stars for the whole series :)

Subject: A full coffee can makes a great weapon...
Of course, if this commercial were made today, the wife would just say "Then make your own damned coffee!"
I have tried different types of coffee over the years, and there really isn't much difference. If your coffee sucks, changing the brand really won't help. Of course, this undermines the whole reason for commercials.

Subject: "Mrs Olsen Bails Out A Barbecue"
"You make me feel so unwifey!" a housewife cries to her husband. The husband does make a point though, that serving her coffee with his steaks isn't a good idea. It sure isn't! Who makes coffee to compliment steak? It's her AWFUL coffee that's the trouble here, soon she turns to Mrs Olsen who says "It's a good thing I didn't come empty handed!" and lugs out a can of Folgers! See! Even Mrs Olsen agrees with the husband if she's forced to lug big cans of coffee around LOL
