Subject:
our Ancient Books of Wales W F Skene
I can only admire the academic brilliance that is evident in Books written by Skene and others of his ilk at the turn of the 20 century.
The depth and breadth of learning, consultation, research and knowledge about the history of Wales and its literature is astounding. Skene was a ray of sunshine on ancient Wales, especially on the Taliesin stories which sadly have been massacred by a modern day author who overly esoterises an ancient historian with much to tell about the customs, beliefs, practises and warmongering of the ancient tribes.
I'm ready to read Skene on Scotland and expect the same rigor of accuracy and forensic examination of the history of Scotland as he gives on Wales. His books are so easy to read, amd so very difficult to put down---or turn off!
By the time you have read these e books you want to own the real book rather than be smug about having a copy of it on your pc!
I've already sent out to links to the downloads to envious friends desperate to get hold of Skene's Scottish histories.......
Thanks ever so much to the person who scanned this and other books by Skene, the reading world and our knowledge of history and ancient customs would be less livelier and not as well informed without them.
Wish I could give ten stars...........
