In Frailing The Blues: An Introduction to country blues on the five-string banjo, Patrick takes the basic frailing skill set and walks you through a set of songs, concepts and exercises geared to help you get into the groove of country blues music.
Patrick offers tips on playing slide banjo, using rests and phantom hammer-ons to create exciting rhythms and picking up ideas from blues guitar players. In the process you will learn great blues songs like Samson and Delilah, Minglewood Blues, Rollin' and Tumblin' and both the Furry Lewis and Mississippi John Hurt arrangements of Stagolee.
Lesson one and two are up now. I will be posting lessons two through five over the next few weeks.

Delivered with Patrick's world-renowned clear and easygoing approach, Frailing The Blues is a groundbreaking project that offers an entirely new perspective on frailing the five-string banjo - all while using skills and techniques familiar to most banjo students.
As Patrick points out, "Nothing is as complicated as it sounds."
