Subject: Let's Keep This In Perspective
Phil turns 70 in March & Bobby just turned 62, yet they continue to hit the road out of the love and passion they have of playing the music they created for all of us to enjoy. They could of retired and bailed on this entire trip, yet they continually move forward to wow us all....you gotta love that! Obviously, The Grateful Dead is long gone and no one will ever replace Jerry, although being from Chicago & a Deadhead since the 70's, I can tell you that JK also has the love and passion for this music. I saw him play many times at small bars....he's earned his wings and a shot to tour with Phil & Bobby. Let's enjoy the ride as long as we can and be careful not to throw anyone under the Furthur bus.

I don't know guys. I'm not hearing it or feeling it. Maybe it's a hang up I have with someone attempting to imitate something that cannot be. It's one thing in DSO, and might be 'fun' but, to think that there is 'magic' happening here is a sad misconception.

Subject: great show
Subject: great show
and a good recording too, although i have yet to compare it to the others.
this band is getting better and better, with this probably being my favorite of all the shows that I have heard.
People have been giving Bobby a lot of shit, and i can totally understand that, i've got a lot of problems with bobby and I honestly think he's the weakest link of this band. But complaining about him singing jerry tunes is kinda ridiculous, i know JK is on board now and can handle it too, but seriously Bobby has been singing jerry tunes for YEARS.
It may be hard to accept things getting a little jumbled up by mixing up singers, but if you get confused just listen to the music play, that's what it's about anyway.
side note: jeff and jon are getting REALLY good at playing with each other.
jeff chimenti is fucking incredible.

.... I was on the floor at this show and it was certainly a magical, memorable and insanely high-energy night! This band kicks so much a--, it's almost sacrilegious!! Unfortunately, Bobby is still smothering the spotlight and somehow feels the need to devalue the music by taking over the vocals where he should be humble and allow the "Jerry" guy to do the Jerry parts. Hopefully he'll see the overwhelming fan consensus and lay back and stay in his comfort zone. Some of the song reinvention is great and some just ruins the beautiful foundation that is being built musically with this new group.
Either way, I'm stoked for the AC show!! And here's a toast to a SUMMER TOUR!! Make it happen boys... I'm on the bus!

Yeah, Bob's vocals on Sugaree are not great.
Neither are Phil's on Franklin's Tower.
Bob's vocals are excellent on his songs.
Phil's are decent on Box of Rain, harmony in mason's children, etc.
Lady with a fan starts great with John singing,
then Bob takes over the vocals for Terrapin.
Bob sings the verses without melody on US Blues.
If they'd leave the Jerry tunes to John,
the show would be even better.
That said, the show is rockin' and
the recording is clear.

real nice recoding, much thanks. haven't seen a live Further show yet, hopefully Miami.
The band sounds good, better then good. I just don't understand why "they" don't let JK sing ALL the Jerry tunes.
