Ahh good show . I remember driving down with my dad coming from philly . We had got a room across the street with some of his buddys and remember the other heads were having dog races up and down the hallways! Not to mention the whole hotel smelled like good weed :) Anyways this was actually my birthday day show i was turning 11 and got Mericled out side! We sat on the right side of the stage and we were burning this huge sage stick it was awesome .
It was magical, i was loving the dubble drums and the Here Come Sunshine was great! Cosmic ,Revolution, golden road were my favs that night ! Great night glad i was not out in the cold rain and snow !

This show was fantabulous. Old favorites got meanings. Bobby cheeses up so many times, my friend and I roll around on the floor laughing our asses off. A few times he sounds like a brassy old saxophone. Spoton segues (one can get the soundboard from Furthur I believe). They are in their element and having a grand old time. Honestly I don't which one of them sings...great job John! Listening now! Waiting again for that great Cold Rain and Snow!!

Once you have the flac files downloaded, download Trader's Little Helper. Then, under the Format menu, choose decode audio files. Click the Add... button and select your files from wherever you saved them. Once the files are selected, hit the Decode button. Your files will be decoded into wav files. The wav files will be stored in the same place you stored the flac files. Then you can burn the wav files to disc or listen to them on a media player.
Also, there are some media players that will play flac files without decoding them into wav files. I use foobar2000.

I just followed all the instructions on how to download a flac file EXACTLY. And after downloading each song in DOWNTHEMALL, I now can't open the files in music form. Can someone please post how to do this. Thank you so much. I'd really appreciate it.

do you remember when Garcia GASPED through them? Are you such nit picking fools that you dont listen and groove but must compare and contrast like a bunch of anal fact checkers???? How DO you spend your shows? I saw Bobby sing "Days Between " at Radio City Tues night that was THE MOST beautiful thing Id ever heard.Thats MY 2 cents

This is the only show for me on this tour, but having heard some of the earlier tapes, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect.
This band has a great chemistry and I love the backup singers filling in the vocal harmonies.
JK ROCKS!
Maggie's Farm was extra funky and a lot of fun, and of course, Alabama Getaway was the highlight of the evening.
I also really liked hearing Revolution since the boys played it at my first show, 4/8/85 at the Spectrum.
I would like to put in my .02 about Bobby's singing. If you're not hearing him talk his way through some of the songs, then you're just not listening closely enough. To be fair, I heard a lot more of it on the Dead tour last year but on this tour it's happening less. I figured Phil must have sat him down and told him to stop it. Unfortunately, he hasn't stopped it completely.
Examples? Black Peter in the 1st set and Sugaree in the 2nd set. He changes the melody and the rhythm of the lead vocal line and often sounds like he is talking his way through the lyrics.
On the other hand, listen to the Maggies Farm and you'll hear Bobby actually SINGING, like we know he still can. Why does he feel the need to change up the vocal lines on Jerry's songs? I have no idea.
And oh yeah, this recording sounds GREAT! Thanks Jeremy.
Finally just a note about the venue. If you have a chance to miss a concert at the Bob Carpenter Center, take advantage of it. Let's just say they take their concert security VERY seriously. There is of course, NO smoking in the building, but also there was no readmittance and no where to step outside for a cigarette. I went to the bathroom during the 1st set and was all but knocked over by the smell of cigarettes when I entered the mens room. Talk about your bad high school flashback...
But the real kicker was the security guy standing at the back of the floor. It was his job to check the tix of people walking toward the front. I saw him stop someone and check their ticket during the first song of the ENCORE!!
Duuude. Seriously??

I don't understand the previous reviewer's comments about the vocals being too far down in the mix and Bobby talking thru the songs. We sat right up front and didn't notice any of that. The set list was great and we didn't have any complaints about the mix. It's not like listening to the Dead, it's another group and you have to take it for what it is. This particular recording isn't the best but it's highly appreciated! All in all, I'd give the show a 4 to a 4.5. Play Dead!

i thought that the band was pretty darn good. Very, very tight and a good setlist. I always love a good Black Peter, but the energy really dropped off after that hott Alabama Getaway. which featured two awesome solos from Jeff. I saw the Dead twice on the spring tour, including a great show at Albany, and this lineup really has a step up on guitar. John K is an excellent addition. Jeff was great on Sugaree, one of the best post-Jerry I've heard. I have to rate this show on a scale of all post-Jerry lineups. I'll give it a 4 and a half.

Subject: Long Strange Trip
Subject: Long Strange Trip
I enjoyed myself at the show and thought that the band was really tight but could only give it 3 stars. The vocals were just to far down in the mix and Bobby's was talking through a lot of the songs. I realize he's 62 or 63 but I still can't give this show 4 or 5 stars. They really could have utilized that back up singers a bit more to make up for the weak lead vocals. I know it's been 15 years but it's still hard for me to hear others sing the Jerry tunes, even when it's Bobby.
