After downloading this show and converting it and burning it, then listening to it on a home system.... all I have to say is what a shame. The Halfstep, although not the best I have heard.... is certainly one of the best.... and it is ruined... right at the best part too, during the end jam... It still is sweet though. The rest of the show is spectacular....Major kudos to the taper for a nice pull, sounds nice and full on real speakers. Can't wait for the July shows at The Mann Music Center in Philly.... Going both nights.... Dream come true. The GD never played the Mann, even when they were still doing smaller venues.... always wished for them to just play the Mann anyway.... such a great mid sized venue, right smack in the middle of one of the most beautiful city parks in the country. This will be the next best thing.

Always liked this tune on the album, but getting it live was always 50/50 at best. Here it takes on a life of its own, with some great lead work by John that culminates in a serendipitous ending. Close your eyes and you're there, back again (only better, as the case may be with this tune). Love it!

My only complaint on this recording is the arguing during Half Step which I thought was one of the band's finest moments of the night.
This show was definately a burner from start to finish. Liked getting an Other One first and second set and the He's Gone>Half Step was awesome.

The people you were arguing with during the half-step is maddening. You would think that people would have an understanding of how to behave around tapers, but the swearing and hostility is a real bummer.
We had a great time at this show. Looking forward to a great summer, the venues are awesome.

What is amazing about this band is you cant even risk a bathroom break. I left to do such a thing and then grab a drink during Loser and literally had to run back into the arena during the jam as it was stupendous. This band doesn't ever take a tune off. That is what people really need to appreciate. The gems come from everywhere

Subject: Going Further, but Weir needs to let JK sing!
Missed the first set-LOL
2nd Set WAILED!!!
I had seen NH show, and it was ho hum, sad to say, so this was...much welcomed
Bertha>Good Lovin
yowza!!
King Solomon, and the Eleven were especially tasty, hearing those ancient psychedelic dripping complexities- now if only the blotters wern't so damn week these days...
Only sour notes came with Weir taking Garcia songs, and....it not sounding right. Standing on the Moon was almost painful-I am sorry, but Weir just doesn't have the right voice, or vocal stylings for Garcia's tunes. Barlow wrote lyrics that sound just right when Weir sings them-do those Bobby, there are so many gems! But Hunter did not write his lyrics for a voice like bobby's
JK has the range and style that matches up well-better than anyone we;ve heard since Garcia
So I wanna hold a big sign next time saying ( if necessary, maybe it will work out soon)
Hey Weir! LET JK SING!

I got on the bus at Cape Cod in 79 with my hands on the rail at Bobby's feet for Dancin in the Street, and I loved this show. I had some concerns during the first half of this tour, where they seemed to be hitting 50/50. But beginning at Utica they really fired up consistently. The Loser wind up here was stinging (sadly, the SBD version really doesn't do it justice). Good, old time El Paso with that subtle hypnotic rhythm. Great Foolish Heart jams. I thought the Bertha Good Lovin was classic-- & really liked the Good Lovin post-jam. He's Gone was tasteful and magnetic--Half Step, esp into Rio Grande, was huge. Oddly, the Eleven didn't work for me as well as it has at other Furthur shows but I didn't care by that point. (Actually, I've liked most of every show after Amherst). I suspect there are even greater things coming as they tighten up more. It should be a fun summer.

First of all a big thank you for getting this on. Whatever the quality(Good)its an important performance as far as the band getting their music out and continuing the journey farther into the unknown. Bertha>Good Lovin'>He's Gone is a tribute to Jerry that is so touching and respectful of the music that it makes you cry!!
That's the Spirit people!! In the wind..it's alive!! Furthur continues to evolve and treat us to great music. I love the 1973 Grateful Dead style guitar intro out of He's Gone and into Mississippi Half-Step. Also Bobby's extra lyrical twist here and there in my opinion is taking it the extra mile. I like how Bobby and Phil are grabbing pieces from RatDog and PLAF mixing it all together vocally and musically and presenting it with bursting glorious passion!! Cant wait to hear all the SB's on CD. Please dont forget Seattle this fall I hope. Thank You Good Buddy:{-~

Section J on the floor. The sets were amazing. The band to me was jamming as hard as ive seen them in a long time. The POC into El Paso melted my heart....he botched the lyrics but as Bobby moved closer to the mic and peered past it straining to see the audience in a "i see you guys out there" mannor he totally made up for it. Read the lyrics of all the songs played together in the first set and it will paint a picture of a man and his journey...truly the most connected to a show i have ever been. Thank you boys. and Thank You JERRY!

I agree with Stellblu122 for the most part. Good representation of the show. I will only add for those who didn't pick it up that the highlights of this show was certainly the Loser, Foolish Heart, Women Are Smarter, and Bertha. The Sugar Mag closer and US Blues encore wasn't that hot. Good! But not hot.

Good recording of an awesome show. I especially liked the altercation during Mississippi Half-Step, proof that the booze was flowing freely at this venue. I was in the very last row of the upper deck for this one. It was kind of an odd feeling, since I was in the front row for Amherst a week prior. Overall a very good show. I agree that this KSM is a little more aggressive than Amherst. Highlights for me were Foolish Heart, Mississippi Half-Step, Other One>The Eleven and US Blues. I would have been disappointed if they didn't play Loser. This was the last of 3 shows for me and I have to say it was a great tour overall. I think we're all very lucky that Bob and Phil still want to be doing what they're doing and I'm ecstatic that they will be spending so much time on the east coast in June.

LOSER was the show high-light for me. Long time dead head here and have to say the sound was very nice and solid. The show was a little heavy on the Bobby vocals for my tastes

I would say after seeing four shows, Ithaca, Manchester, Utica this show came in a very strong second from start to finish. With Utica being the best I saw.
Although this first set was amazing and easily was the best opener I saw.
I am surprised no one has mention the really nice jam that opened the show, it was warm and inviting and just lifting you away.I thought I heard a HC Sunshine tease in there. It sounds really good on the board and then to finish the Other One from Tuesday night...Wow it was smokin' and Phil sounds great playing the Modulus and the band was wicked tight!. John was fiddling with his equipment and switching tones in the end jam so it did not go off the hook but it was excellent and then to go into a funky Alligator.
Nice choice guys.
Then with out missing a beat they jumped into Tennessee Jed, with dire warnings about the casino that surrounded us .
This version was hot and much more high energy than in Ithaca.
Reading what I have heard about Memphis Blues, I was slightly concerned and when Bob missed his opening I cue I was like oh oh.. but he quickly rebounded and delivered a strong version and nailed all the verses. I agree with the shifting tempo/raggea thing at the end.. dump it.
This Loser I think was the song that really got everyone in sync it was breathtaking and a high light of the night.
Pride of Cucamonga was played with a bouncy confidence that was infectious and you just had to jump on in, as the water wass fine.Phil sounded amazing playing the Modulus and I have a feeling she is here for a while.
Alright I was very psyched for an electric El Paso, nice to see Bobby pull out some of his more rare songs in one set, yeah he botched the lyrics...bad Bobby, but the band really deliver a lilting version and JK played a nice midi solo on it. It ended strongly so it was worth the effort.
Then things went from 0-60 fast and we got a stunning Foolish Heart, man this was one of the songs of the night.Jeff and the drummers were perfect on it and this version was happening.Phil really loves playing this one again. It was just so flowing and the ending was great, JK played this cranked up solo that was different than what he did in Utica.
Perfect and then one more song... yeh hah!
At the time I thought the tempo was alittle off but on second listening it works quite well and was a great set closer. Bob's vocals were extremely tight and the audience loved it. JK first solo was poetic, he switched to the midi about halfway through it then added alittle wah wah next.
It is quite apparent the musical bond developing between Jeff and John. John played a nice piano solo and JK played some sweet chords to back him up.
JK finally solo was wah wah all the way and was cool and Bobby playing sounded quite good as well.
"thats right the women are smarter...THAT RIGHT!"
Phil was funny when he said " we will be right back as long as you all stay here" lol
I felt this second set from start to finish was tour de force and showcased what this band is good at and great at. A resounding up tempo Bertha was very welcomed and they nailed it.The band really soared on it and the changes were awesome.
We were sitting wayyyy up in 113, and the audio was quite nice and loud enough but no room to dance so we headed to the floor and I was able to use my cd bracelet to get me and my buddy on the floor for the rest of the show. I set up camp right in front of the sb and was a very happy camper.
Nice to go old school by pairing this up with Good Lovin' and the jam at the end was wicked.Bobby even did some high pitched screams at the end "aaaahhh"
Follow this up with a heartfelt and powerful He's Gone and everyone was smiling. Perfect harmonies by the ladies and I like Bob and JK switching verses on it. The ending was quite special and the jam out of this was excellent and I heard themes reminiscent of the Mind Left Body Jam, now if they broke that out I would be totally on board, and was really good. Then going in 1/2 Step was awesome and this version was off the charts. I mean they blew the roof on it.
Wow!!!
Then to go into a brief drums and erupt into KSM? This one smoked the one they played at UMASS and I thought it had some wicked searing jams in it as well and seemed longer than usual.
I got up to within the 20th row for some quick shots.
Another breathtaking SOTM, saw the one in Ithca as well, and this band was right there.
Then to jump right back and finish the Other One. Phil ERUPTED into the song and this was nice to see and hear finished and then to keep it going by jumping into the Eleven?
This was turning into a barn burner, I thought this was easily as good if not better than the one they played back in December and was wildly received by the majority of folks dancing on the floor.
Then to cap it up with an EPIC Sugar Magnolia? Wow this was one for the ages and the band played a joyous revival version and the SSDD was HUGE. This was Bob at full control here and it was quite special.
We went nuts as they brought it to a crashing, cascading ending.
Perfect.
A raging and smokin' US Blues with a rave up addition after they ended it, like the Saturday nite in Utica, sent us out into the casino which was festive open and quite relaxing. There were plenty of earth colors, a beautiful mural, water fountains and water falls,a mellow vibe and even a Ben and Jerry's which many of us Wharf Rats went too. I think everyone thought this was a fun place to be.
Oh yeah the video feed was quite professional as well.
I took the plunge and went for the Mike DuBois, love his work, tour poster as well. Which I thought was great on closer inspection and has a nice textured print quality as well.
This show may have been one of the longest of the tour as well.
