Period. All Good 2010 was magical anyways, but having never really listened much to Further or the Dead, this was an extra special experience.
Fire poi, dancing with hula hoop girls, and sitting on top of the Mountain looking over the crowd that was all lit up. It will be hard to ever top this experience in my opinion. Several songs from this recording bring me right back to this set, chills, thank you!

to my ears, this may be the first time JK has played the way Jerry used to play the ending jam of the ll rain...I guess that would be after the 'i cant stand the rain' part near the end, the jamming then for the 'cant stand the rain' reprise right before the ending. I saw a very nice LLRain at Barton Hall this past feb but John didn't do the ending.
I'm here to tell you that I am glad it is back. That part of the song has always been one of my favorite jams that happen during certain songs. This LLRain jam>reprise was intense, like it should be. KUDOS

Yes we all miss Jerry, but I think he is grooving to the sounds floating up into the heavens! Having been at the AG Festival seeing the mostly young crowd and now reading some of these reviews; I know that many never even saw the Dead prior to the 80's if that. For me who started (1972) grooving to the band for the last 38 years; I say quit your bitching and just enjoy music!!!

I am glad so many of you enjoyed this...and I am sure like many shows it was better if you were there...but to me I couldn't even get through this whole thing with all the other music out there I could spend my time listening to. After reading the reviews I targeted the Estimated right of the bat. BORING. Typical last decade Bob slow boring garbage...tight, well played, and yet sounds old and tired. HOW TIRED AM I OF THIS VIBE? This, coupled with the fact that anytime a guitarist really gets smokin' anymore Bob insists on cutting him off and bringing it down, are reasons why I will never pay to see Bobby again even if your PROMISED he would spit on me :) . Sad, but true. With the exception of the backend of the last Further Festival with Bruce, Kimcock, and Mick (the final two days at Shoreline really were epic), Phil's best band with Warren, Jimmy, and Rob B., and the last rendition of the Other Ones with Jimmy and Warren (Shoreline through Irvine really were outstanding) I just can't get into this stuff. The stuff I hear from this band is nowhere near that level of energy to me. It takes more then an envelope filter and a signature finger roll to pull of Jerry...and quite honestly I am tired of hearing guys try. It just depresses me...almost as much as a full night of Bob directing traffic. His vibe was ridiculously awesome and refreshing within the scope of the old band...but as a musical director he bores and frustrates me. Then I hear him try to do a Jerry ballad and it just depresses the hell out of me. Everytime this happens I feel like i am among a group of 20,000 in mourning. Sorry, I can't do that anymore. Life is about moving on.
Then I checked the Colors -> Terrapin on your recommendations. Meh. Colors is not good...sub-Wave to the Wind if you ask me. The Terrapin dragged big time. This is like elevator music for stoners. Boring. It was topped off by the bearded (as if that changes anything) ego of Bob stepping in for the final verses, out of key as usual, which was honestly embarassing. NOT GOOD. Sufficed to say I won't listen to any more of this tour.
I rate this a two based on quality of the music post-Jerry (and ever so slightly on the quality of these gusy for the last 40 years). In that scope this is well below what I have heard from other post-Jer bands I mentioned above and I give it maybe 1 star. However the sound quality of this recording is very good, mix is solid and balanced, Phil is cutting through just right (and yes, asusual he plays exceptionally well through most of this)so an extra star there.
Sorry to be a downer...but I just don't know how some people come out on this stuff with 5 stars. I am just being honest here.

Subject: One more Saturday Night in Philly
I to have been looking for the Philly shows I was at the show on Saturday night (felt the most like being at a show in 15 years..anyone remember RFK??) and sat on the lawn with friends behind the tapers for the first set. For the first couple of songs, the sound on the lawn was bad, the speakers were not even on (due to the late bus and only 3 hours to setup, i'm sure) I am not sure as I have not listened to any of the tapes, but I don't think any of the tapers got a good first set (but you know they got the crowd singing "Satisfaction":)

I saw 7 shows this year and want to thank the tapers for helping us hear what we missed. Allgood is a very good show--kickin Estimated, and prolly the best swinging Scarlet of the tour. I agree that the Sugar Mag is off, but all around this is a rich performance.
I've bought most of the downloads too, and they are VERY well mixed in comparison to earlier years--they make even the weaker moments sound great. (Really, buy one, I think you'll like the sound). My iPod mix favorites are Lowell (Rag!), Herkimer (despite some harsh lyric delivery in Feelin Alright), much of Oxford. The Help>Caution>New Speedway at Ottowa is great too (and an amazing Bucket!). Oddly, the Philly shows don't move me as much as the middle of the tour.

this was only my third furthur show since im poor and work all the time. i was at hampton and fairfax this spring and it blew me away. i live in SW VA and it was worth the trip. furthur played on the 15th anniversary of the last greatful dead show. after midnight was just a warm up, estimated was great because bobby sounded like bobby man, just a little light was awesome because the rain started to let up, tennessee jed was great and the band spilt the vocals perfectly, IMHBTR was moving and painted a vivid picture, looks like rain sounded like jack straw at first but i feel like LLR was fitting because the rain was starting to pick during the intro jam, brown eyed women blew my mind, phil singing "looks like the old mans getting old." was very moving and it was like the music is still alive, they played big railroad blues in hampton and JK sung the words, this time bobby stole the show and gave me the feeling that i was witnessing some real heartfelt music. during set break me and my brother went to find a place to urinate, UJB was unreal, JK was rippin it up and this recording doesnt do it justice, phil was singin so well, celebration sounded like a sugar magnolia transition at first to my poor ears but it was deff enjoyable, sugar magnolia suffered early from a false start that resulted in bobby waving frantically on stage for a restart, but the band made up for with strong vocals and great playing, so many roads was awesome it was a treat to hear it a second time since fairfax, colors of the rain was so awesome because its a song the band worked on together and the jamming tells the story there, the band dynamic has improved greatly since they set JK loose in hampton, bobby was playing excellent rhythm guitar and wasnt trying to show off and prove that he's the master of the stage, terrapin station was so awesome, it was like an early slower version but with later jams and with few errors, scarlett > fire was awesome, it was and inspired night for sure, attics was a special treat that i wont ever forget, sunshine day dream was expected but damn if bobby didnt deliver. thank you so much phil and bobby, thank you tapers, it was a special show, the boys made jerry proud for sure, the show was slower that hampton and fairfax but i feel like thats way it was supposed to be...

Below is what I said after two songs. Now that I've listened to the whole show, up till the encore, i think it is amazing. What a tight, creative, and fun evening of music. This band is great.
Well, I was at Philly last Saturday night and had a great time, so I figured I'd hang outside in the back and listen to the show from the night before. The sounds is excellent, and I am only up to the second song and the music so far has completely brought me back to last week. :)

It is all about the recordings for me these days, and I just wanted to express my appreciations to those keeping them coming+the band, of course. You like some stuff better than others when presented with so much to chose from, but it is all good.
I usually look here, and the Philedelphia recordings have been slow in coming (though I have listened to taperRob elsewhere). I did buy the download for 7/11 PA, and I wanted to say that it is fantastic. Seems like the best of the tour to me, but you always like what you heard last the best, I suppose. The quality of the recording is excellent...a great thing to have and enjoy.

Yea man, where are the Philly shows. I've been dying to hear that Morning Dew again from Sunday night. Both nights were amazing and I've been checking the Archives every hour or so all week waiting to be posted. Is this a conspiracy?? lol
As for this show, classic set list. But I'd kinda rather hear JK sing Tennessee Jed, he's that good..Awesome recording. Nice LLR, a little shaky in the beginning but a strong finish. Killer Scarlet/Fire....Can't wait for Nokia in a couple of weeks. See ya there!!

this was my first furthur show and it met most of my expectations. the setlist was very decent, i was able to jam to some tunes i was dying to hear. personally, i most enjoyed colors>terrapin and begonias>fire, but thats just me. i agree with previous posts about estimated being a good omen and after midnight probably shouldnt be played at 10 oclock, but overall bob and phil were doin their thing and john kadlecik is about as close to jerry as it comes. going from these guys to bassnectar was quite the change, but like the festival name says, it was ALL GOOD!!

All Good was fuckin dank. I saw 30 bands and everyone was layin it on thick. i agree this wasnt the best furthur performance, but after all, its still further. still some groovy, easy-going tunes... and those who needed to boogie went hard for the bassnectar and lotus late night shows that followed. furthur did their part to make all good a blast

From one who was there. Most of the people I know were expecting an epic jam show with something or anything like St. Stephen> Cryptical>Other One>Truckin'> Other One after seeing what Furthur has been doing. The Estimated seemed like a good omen. But then things slowed down, way down. 25,000 needing to boogie were lead to stand still. Hearing the Esus4 chord might have meant Jack Straw, at least, but you could hear a wave of groans when BW started LL Rain. No kidding. Groans. Needing rock. Getting elevator music. It was sweet, it was nice but just too slow for a F'n Friday night at All Good. After Uncle John's, again hope for a Playin' jam but it was not to be. The Terrapin and Scarlet>Fire got us moving a bit and saved the show for me. The Attics was stellar. The Sugar Magnolia sucked big time. Sorry.

A real fine and crisp recording. And an excellent show, interesting setlist with some rarely played songs and even some new ones. Inspired playing, psychedelic jamming. Doesn't get much better than this.
