Notes
My first time at the Merriweather-Post Pavillion!!! This is a great old venue with a rich history and full of charm. It was nice to feel welcome by the staff and be greeted with a smile... I cannot say the same about The Mann Center in Philly. Anyway, another great show. Brad and I set up in Row S ...a Sweet spot on the right side of the sound board...THE PHIL ZONE!!!!

I would like to take extreme exception to your negative comments about the staff at The Mann Center. I am a member there (which means I have donated money to them) and attend at least six shows a season other than the now 'annual' Furthur concert(s). The staff has always been extremely friendly and helpfull and in no way are they mean. Now given the overwhelming magnitude of freakdom that descends on the place every summer for Furthur, there are sure to be some of the staff who just don't get the vibe, so possibly you had to deal with that; but in general they are a friendly staff trying to do their job. We try to live up to the meaning of the words Phila Del Phia (the city of brotherly and sisterly love). All things being equal, I'd rather be in Philadelphia. I'm just sayin...

My first show since the NYE run and its just, you know, wow. How is it that they keep on doling out such powerful performances? I sat in CC, right side, and the only thought that kept hammering through my head during Althea was, "Are you freaking kidding me? Where did that sound come from, this is incredible!"
And I think that's really the beginning, middle and end of it all. This show was just another in a long line of masterfully executed shows. Althea was the highlight, I think, but there were so many other jaw dropping moments, too.
Finally, thanks to the taper for making this available. Its really some kind of wonderful that you do it, and it is appreciaed.

THANK YOU, Gman for another one of your great recordings...esp considering you did such an amazing job with a mediocre sounding venue. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into
recording and uploading this amazing music. (What a far cry from the days of arranging those cassette trades, and then waiting in line at the PO to mail ten packages a week....then waiting anxiously...hehe). THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
This show was a great show to be show 231 for me (GD, OO Dead, Mickey, Phil, Ratdog, Further), and a great show for my Mom's 4th (1 GD, 1 Dead, 2 Furthur). FINALLY, Mom's a believer...hehe!
Thanks to Furthur for playing such amazing music, and continuing to transport us the that wonderful place music dues.
