It's simple, really.
If you're a fan of groove music that actually LISTENS to the music... not just a moe. fan that slams back beers and rages (not that there's anything wrong with that!!)... there are the other bands... and then there's Garaj Mahal!! IMO... the most talented band on the scene right now, and still obscure enough that we get to see them in bars?
QUALITY!!!!

Excellent show. These guys are tight. My track 7 seems to get cut off. Is that the case with everyone or have I got a problem? email me.

Man, what a show! Very funky jazz that doesn't get old. Lots of interesting changes in the songs (jams) too. This is the first show I have heard of theirs and already I am looking forward to getting some more. Can't wait to see these guys live too! Only 4 stars since I can't compare this to other shows yet...

This is my first listen to these guys. If you can appreciate a group of seriously talented musicians that keep it really tight, check this out. Real funky with solid energy plus a heavy jazz influence. This show gets a 5 star rating for show quality and sound quality. This mix really allows you to enjoy the full spectrum of instruments. Enjoy!

I agree totally with the other two reviewers...this show is great, both in sound and performance, and has become one of my Garaj favorites. I too enjoy the variations of their songs, it keeps things interesting. And lest I forget, this show is funky as all hell. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

This is one of the best matrix recordings I've ever heard. The stereo spread is great, and the sound is full--best appreciated with the volume JACKED--it sounds better than being there in person (though I would never trade the experience of seeing these maniacs live). The sound is very full, detailed and intimate, the imaging is crisp, no muddyness here at all. When I saw the 4022+SBD source, I started drooling, and this baby lives up to and exceeds those high expectations.
The show itself is great too, even by Garaj's standards. They tend to change their interpretations of their songs alot, so most of their shows sound fresh, not stale and repetitive. This one is no exception. They clearly felt like rocking Raleigh that night. I think somehow these guys are managing to get even better as time goes by. I've never heard a bad show by them, and this one is better than their average--I say _their_ average because Garaj Mahal's average is better than most bands' best!
Get it.
