Larry HeylGarlic Blues (August 8, 2008)

Hi,

I got this myspace message from Timo and Saini in Finland.

Garlic and Blues Party in Finland

Hi Hairy Larry,

We found your videos from the internet and have watched them with great enthusiasm and have really enjoyed them. We are a Finnish couple arranging a combined garlic and blues party in August and would like to ask you a great favour and surprise... Is it in any way possible that you could send us a video greeting to be shown during this party? We plan to show some of your videos as well.
Who are these people... common denominator is the love for blues and garlic food (which fit very well together...) and they represent diversisites of life, many of them are going to perform in the party - blues of course. So it is going to be a great jam here in Finland as the summer is decending - no more midnight's sun!

Keep on playing! You are great!

PS The party takes place on August 16th and its called in Finnish "valkosipulibluussit"; Garlic Blues

So I wrote this song.

Garlic Blues
copyright 2008 by Larry Heyl

I know you've seen Emeril
He goes "Bam!" without a pause
But when he brings the garlic
That's when he gets applause
I got them garlic Blues
Let me tell you how I feel
Once a day just ain't enough
I need my garlic with every meal.

Of all the spices
Garlic is the spicyest
Leaks are nice, onions nicer
But garlic is the nicyest.
I got them garlic Blues
Let me tell you how I feel
Once a day just ain't enough
I need my garlic with every meal.

Frank Zappa said "Call any vegetable"
And so I call to garlic
It gives my tastebuds a thrill
And makes my hair jump up in a cowlick
I got them garlic Blues
Let me tell you how I feel
Once a day just ain't enough
I need my garlic with every meal.

Now to all my Northern friends
Up in Iceland, Finland and Sweden
Under the midnight sun
On the garlic they're a feedin'
I got them garlic Blues
Let me tell you how I feel
Once a day just ain't enough
I need my garlic with every meal.

This is an audio recording made on my Iriver H320 hence part of the album Iriver Blues. I used the internal mic so it's mono.

I hope to make a video soon.

Thanks for the inspiration Timo and Saini,

Hairy Larry

I now have the video too.
